Musical PSA: If you like Beck "Sea Change", check out this guy...

Nick Drake
He only put out three albums prior to his death, but it's really good stuff.

There are a few sound clips from each album on his Amazon listings if anyone's interested. I'd suggest checking out Bryter Layter or Five Leaves Left first as his third and final album (Pink Moon) is totally depressing.

Cheers!😀:wine:

Didnt know he was dead. I have had a bunch of his stuff for some time now. Never got totally into him but loved his sound for a change of pace.

Saturday sun, fly, pink moon...great tunes.

Fly was used in the royal tenenbaums movie and most people have heard pink moon in the VW cabreo commercial.

Cool.....I did not know that as I only recently discovered Drake via a friend of mine.

I heard Pink Moon, it is very good. When Elliott Smith died a couple weeks ago some eulogies drew parallels between his and Drake's life.

EDIT: correction - Smith's death was last week 10/21

I only mentioned them together as that's how I discovered Drake. I told my friend to go out and buy Sea Change. He did, said he liked it, and that I should check out Drake as they had a reasonably similar sound.

It makes you think about how much great music is out there that isnt getting to us. Damm the RIAA.

Glad you've discovered Nick, Fausto.

Pink Moon is my favorite LP of all time.

Nick Drake is the reason I started to play the guitar. I've learned about 25 of his songs. Working on Free Ride right now as a matter of fact. Then I just need to tackle Know and I'll be able to play Pink Moon in its entirety, which is pretty good since I only started playing a year ago.

Bump for real music (although I doubt this thread will find many takers in this crowd)
