I won't lie, I've downloaded tons, music and movies.
but.. for some reason I only rent and buy now. why? I got tired of downloading crappy mp3s, movies that are renamed/corrupted, etc. why bother? and besides, people did have to work hard to create it, so you may as well pay for what you should be paying for

anyway.. this thread is not to argue whether you shoudl be able to download music or software for free, vs buying it. that can be argued endlessly and there are already enough threads

what this thread is about .. would you buy a CD if it were only $1.99?

there is a poll so please do vote

I don't want to do the frowned upon advertising thing, so I won't explain any more in this thread.
however i hope that it is OK if people interested may PM/email me with any questions they might have. thank you for participating in this thread!

Yeah probably, with the time it takes to find the songs, download them, name them to your convention, and then put them in the appropriate folder and playlist, buying it for two bucks isn't so bad. Only thing is where to find it. If the CDs are sold really far away then it becomes pointless.

I like $10 CDs (Bestbuy has a ton for 9.99..)

So yes, at 1.99, i would definatly pick up ALOT of CDs.

I'd buy a digital CD for $1.99, but I doubt I'd run to the store to buy a $2 CD.

What is the point of this exercise? If Adobe Photoshop was $9.99 would you buy it instead of stealing it off the web? We can play this game all day :)

If you like a band, respect them and purchase their album. You can always copy the songs you like onto a cd later.. which is perfectly legal if you own the original.

MBony ... you can buy CDs at 1.99, you can't buy photoshop at 9.99. I get your comparison, but it is a big exaggerated :)

I'd definitely buy CDs if they only cost $1.99. Every now and then, I'll find a CD for 6.99 or 7.99 new and it seems like a bargain.

cheers,

Depends....I didn't stop buying music out of some sort of crusade against the RIAA. I stopped buying music because I haven't heard anything that's worth dropping my money on (No, I don't download music either).

I'll probably always buy CD's... but at $1.99, I'd probably buy a lot more than I do now.

as it is, I probably only buy 4-6 CD's/year.

I apologize if I seemed crass. I didn't know you could buy cds for $1.99. Can you fill me in on where I can buy these $1.99 cds or are you talking about being able to download albums from places like allofmp3.com for $1.99?
