I posted this in another forum for 2 days and no replies.
Thought I would move it here.

HI
Weird problem when playing music cd's on my desktop pc.
When I insert a pre-recorded cd or one that I made into my cd/dvd player on the computer when the first track plays the music warbles, or skips or cuts out for a second or the volume drops to zero and then back to normal.
The pc is still under warranty so I had the cd/dvd player replaced.
It worked for about a week then started again.
The problem had been intermittant.
Since I bought the pc I added a 1tb WD hard drive.
Then installed Itunes, Roxio Media Player 2010 and Total Recorder software.
I never used the cd/dvd until after all of the above was installed.
I doubt this could be a hardware problem. (Just my guess)
Again it only happens when the cd plays the first track.
I double checked and made sure the latest version of all the software is isntalled.
How or can I trouble shoot this problem???
What I have done so far.
I uninstalled all the programs but Roxio, I read something that if I remove it I have to pay to reinstall???? Will follow up on this.
Anyway,,, problem is still there.
Checked on a firmware update for the dvd drive and the firmware is still ver.1.0.
Any suggestions?
