I remember back in the days when MTV was REALLY MTV, and I could really say "I want my MTV." Now the whole station has become a reality show. From Real World to Road Rules to RW vs RR and now RICH GIRLS?!? GEEZ! I know there's mtv2 but i'm not really an alternative buff.

Anyone else feel the same?

The sad thing is MTV2 is turning into that also, so then you have to get MTV Videos (how long before THAT channel turns away from videos?)

MTV showed music video's?!?! sorry, its been so long, cant remember that far back. :p its terrible now. i remember as a kid, they showed hours upon hours of music video's, and the only other side entertainment would be the game show, Remote Control. and even that game show revolved around music videos!!! now they only show video's during a weekend special or on TRL, and if you watch it on TRL, its like 20 seconds of the video then back to the show and the people outside.

edit: i remember a day where head bangers ball came on at midnight with Ricky Ratchman (sp?). they would have guests, who would come and shoot the sh*t and do performances and such. those days of MTV are over.

It's been like that since '97. Same thing with the 'zines - Rolling Stone and Spin are now the music version of Seventeen.

For real. I always used to joke my dad for watching VH1, when all the cool videos were on MTV. Now I watch VH1 when I want to see videos :Q

I don't watch videos I was talking about I love the 70's / 80's. Your becoming your Dad aghhh.... I realized a while ago I'm just like mine. :)
