Music server that doesn't create thousands of files

I am running plex for movies and it works ok. I don't like how it creates thousands of xml files though. This would be a lot worse if I put my music library on it as well. So is there any open source music server that doesn't create loads of tiny files? In one dbms is what I am looking for.

as an example, my plex directory has 344,000 files. my Win 10 1909 folder has 183K files.

You could could always setup a shoutcast server and stream to the internet and listen to it using winamp or an app on android.

free one limited to 128kbps mp3. no me gusta.

Decided to just use foobar2000 with dlna plugin. Good enough for my use.
