was just listening to my mp3 player, and hit 'Dreams' from Molly Hatchet. I've got the original (at least, I think it is :p) from the Allman Brothers Band on here as well. Like them both, but I've always liked the Hatchet version more, for some reason.

As far as covers that did / sold better than the original, there's always Joe Cocker's version of 'With a Little Help From my Friends'. I'm sure Proud Mary is up there somewhere too, but I've heard so many versions of it, I'm not sure *who* did the original :p

Mike Portnoy, the drummer from Dream Theater, put together a Rush tribute called 'Working Man', in which many superstar, virtuoso musicians teamed up to redo a dozen or so Rush songs, mostly playing them note for note.

I'm a huge Rush fan, but I have at admit, most of these redo's are sharper, cleaner, and just overall better sounding than Rush's originals.

Ever hear Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower"? After years of hearing Hendrix's version, Dylan's just sounds lame :p

Rage's cover of Street Fighting Man is also way better than the Stones' version.

EDIT : Damn, guess I was beaten to the punch on that one.

QFT.

Have you decided if you're going to LOLLA or not?

Depends entirely on money :(

Spent too much this year on NIN/Hookers/Blow
