ROB ZOMBIE Set To Release New Music
ROB ZOMBIE will have five brand new songs on the upcoming soundtrack to his much-anticipated and long-delayed horror movie "House Of 1000 Corpses", due in March through Lion's Gate Films. Also set to be featured on the soundtrack are classic tracks from THE RAMONES, SLIM WHITMAN, BUCK OWENS and HELEN KANE, as well as seven "horrifying instrumental tracks and terrifying sound bites," according to ZOMBIE's official web site.
Among the new ZOMBIE tracks scheduled to appear on the "House Of 1000 Corpses" soundtrack are the following:
01. Everybody Scream (theme from "Dr. Wolfenstein")
02. Run Rabbit, Run
03. Pussy Liquor
04. Little Piggy
ROB ZOMBIE's fifth contribution to the soundtrack, the title for which was not provided, is "sure to be the most surprising bizarre musical collaboration ever!" according to the site.
DEFTONES' MORENO: New Album Comments?
DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno recently spoke to Revolver magazine about the musical direction of the group's long-awaited fourth album, due in the spring via Maverick Records. "I don't like to drop clues before the album's finished," Moreno said. "This way, when you hear it, you'll hear it fresh. Good things come to those who wait." "I think this record carries a tad more energy than [2000's] 'White Pony'," Moreno continued. "When we were making that record, we were surrounded by a lot of angry, young nu-metal bands and we really wanted to make something that stood apart. There's aggressive stuff on 'White Pony', but I think it was a little more somber overall."
The band began writing and recording basic tracks for the as yet-untitled new album last March in their Sacramento rehearsal space after taking a five-month break. Moreno says that time apart ? which found him recording and gigging with his TEAM SLEEP project while DEFTONES guitarist Stephen Carpenter worked with CYPRESS HILL frontman B-Real and former members of FEAR FACTORY in a side project called KUSH ? allowed the band to come together with clearer heads than in the past. "Playing with other people is fun, but when we get back together it feels like home," said Moreno. "And Stephen and I are really seeing eye to eye on a lot of stuff now ? which definitely didn't happen on 'White Pony'."
