that this would actually happen is so unlikely in my mind that the first word that came up when I read the title was "satire"

LMAO! Good one. Ironically, many member here at AT have never seen a record. Or a turntable.

They have record players that hook up to your computers and programs that let you clean up the tracks and convert them to digital so I guess (if it was real) they lose again.

I was gonna say, it's not too difficult to copy them.

What man made, man can get around. That's too bad they spent that much money on something that won't last.

If they think that I'm going out and buying ANOTHER piece of equipment just to listen to 'records' that are copy proof, they're just kidding themselves.

Sounds like a $50.00 commercial to me. Dorks! :|

Oh but don't let them HACK YOU. Just another justifcation for encryption.

I guess nothing will change for me. That's b/c I'm not a big fan of any band and I usually hear the new stuff on the radio for free :). I haven't bought a CD in years.

dumb.. i could just run it in through the Line-IN on my sound card and record it that way.

i dont see how that could ever catch on though.. nobody is going to go out and buy all new players that support this format.. and what about players for the car?

isnt going to happen.

Hehe, I loved that pirate picture.

Also, they suggested that a company out of taiwan was coming up with a firewire turntable... Obviously a joke, but I wonder if it'd actually sell. I mean, tons of audiophiles go through a lot of trouble to rip from vinyl...

What makes you say that? I'm only 19 and I had quite a few records when I was younger.

Most of the ATOT members appear to be much younger. ;)
