Hey I had some friend over Sunday. While watching some of the first UFC we got into a discussion about music. One of the guys tells us how he found this website where he can get music really cheap. Turns out its a Russian website. After told him how its illegal he is all freaked out now. He thinks the Riaa is going to sue him after buying a couple of songs. I told him he should change his credit card(yes he actually used his bank card) and worry more about identity theft since he only did it for like 3 cds. What else do you tell someone in this case.

Tell him to get a google music or itunes account. (Or introduce him to pandora/slacker/spotify,etc...)

I bought hundreds of cd's off an .ru website back in like 2004. worked a treat. my only regret is not buying in a higher bitrate (price went up if you wanted higher quality)

really, the Russian sites have been a leader in online music distribution. they claim to pay riaa royalties too, but riaa says its not enough. that was years ago though. my guess now is they don't, because riaa is losing court battles left and right now.

lol after reading the title I didn't think he was actually paying.
If you're not supporting the artists and doing something illegal anyway, just go to the other kind of russian websites.
