I love the music from hl2, is there a way to put the soundtrack on a cd? I can't find any music files in the hl2 folder it must be super secretly encrypted...or not, maybe I'm not sure what to look for. help me out anyone? thanx!! =]

i already paid for the game i'm not going about to pay twice for the same songs in a different format

Although you hold a license to use the software, you do not have a license to use the songs however you wish. You'll need to either buy the album or become a Sid Meier's pirate.

You'll have to forgive Nik. I don't think he feels complete unless he chews people out on a regular basis. I don't think he even cares when he's blatantly wrong or hypocritical...

Well, he purchased a license to use the game media (which he does when he actually plays the game). I could be wrong, but I think this encompasses the music of the game, as well.

Reading the license agreement, you'll see that it says not to "reverse engineer" the game in any way. You can't legally decode the installation media or the game files on your PC to pull the soundtrack out.

i finally was able to download it, thx! i think i found the audio files, they have a .cache suffix filename. how can i convert these to a wav or mp3 file?

i can play the soundtrack music in Garry's Mod v7... is there some kind of audio recorder i can use? (besides putting a freakin tape recorder next to the speakers =p)

oh fer chrissakes i'm not gonna be selling hl2 music cds i just wanna listen to a couple of the hl2 songs in my car, tell nik to get that tree stump outta his butt

got em, i was able to play the sounds in-game and record them via the audio out going to the audio in of my 2nd pc, and used audacity sound recorder. its had to go thru analog, but it still sounds 99% as good as original. and nik, eat shite.
