I just found a bunch of old CD's that I used to listen to but a lot (10 or so) of them are scratched so bad that they can't be played and even more of them (20+) are missing. Would it be legal for me to download the CD's that are scratched? What about the ones that are missing?
 
for the ones you have that are scratched, try a proggy called "exact audio copy" (EAC for short)
It has done wonders for a few of my scratched cds.
