A few comments:

The Zalman looks nice and is quiet (have one) but it's 3+ yr old tech and can't compete cooling wize with coolers costing less like this one

Xigmateek 120

For harddrives I would stick to the new WD 320gb or 640gb large platter drives they are the newest and fastest tech, heres the 640
WD640

And it's a matter of preference but I wouldn't trust the PS in that Raidmax case. I'd replace it with a Corsair 520hx

Everything else looks like a good base for a recording/editing rig which is what I assume you mean by a music computer. If your just talking about MP3 downloads and playing music, the Q9450 is overkill and you could drop down to a dualcore like an E7200 or E2200

No reason to spend the extra money on an X38 motherboard when you aren't using the added features. Go with a solid P35 motherboard and save $75-125.

GuitarDaddy : thanks, so I'll go with the 640gb for storage and the 320 for the OS, also Im still debating on the case, just read some more reviews and you're right. as of now Im still debating on the case, but will take the Corsair 520hx in consideration. thanks !!

Those are both nice boards and have a full feature set, lots of sata ports, firewire, raid.

If you don't need the firewire or raid consider this one

DS3L $90
