Just doing a little bit of unofficial market research here.

Do you own Mushkin products? If so, which products? Do you like the quality? Something you do not like?
 
Moonlighting as a PR person?! HELL NO... I have enough work to do without trying to be a PR person or anything of that sort!

We were discussing how Mushkin is a lesser known company when compared to some of its competitors (*cough* OCZ *cough*), and got me thinking about how many people actually own Mushkin stuff.

BTW, I no longer work for DT. 😉
 
I personally don't think Mushkin's lesser known. Lesser known in my mind would be Cell Shock, for example.

I'd be perfectly happy to buy Mushkin RAM, if not for the fact that Corsair and OCZ are usually far cheaper with their frequent rebates. Even looking at the D9 stuff, Crucial and other brands are often cheaper as far as the higher grade, non Elpida stuff.

So it just boils down to price for me.
 
i bought my first 2 sticks of mushkin recently in spite of being hooked on corsair for years (neither has disappointed me at all)..knew about mushkin back when they and corsair were the holy grail of memory..premium memory, premium price..but when you had to have the best... they were 2 of the big names..maybe THE names, to choose from. now, there's more options for good memory..no other memory company has a forum in my mind that is of the calibers of mushkins. mushkin greg over there will give anyone a set or 2 of the best timings he can find to go with their motherboard. name another company who'll do that. it's not that ocz and kingston make better ram..or are better known..it's just that have been known to make ram that people can buy cheap. given the price of ram these days, there's no reason not to buy the best you can get rather than settle for what you can afford. and no, i don't work for mushkin or corsair🙂
 
I've own two kits of Mushkin RAM.

I'd likely say they're my favorite RAM company if i had to pick, due to their good support & service, & the fact that even as a smaller company, they tend to come out with extremely good RAM, often at a very good bang for buck as well.

They're certainly lesser known, but to an enthusiast they're a lot more known than some brands.
 
I have mushkin ddr2-1066. on a ga-p35-d3sl w/ an e2180 @ 3.0ghz, this ram will do ddr2-1200 @ less than the e.p.p.-desired voltage (2.1) and run at 2.0V. No errors, 5-6-6-12. I'd say it's good. It was 2 gigs, in a matched 1x1 pair for 60-some dollars (68?).
 
I have two pair of ddr2 pc8500 extreme performance EPP sticks (d9's) .. each pair works fine at 4-4-4-12 all the way up to slightly beyond spec, 1100, but when I install a second pair I can only get 915 out of it even with loose timings at various voltages.

Mushkin technical support is very helpful and does their best to walk you through the various settings that may resolve the issues. In the end tech support informed me that the rated speed is only 'as sold' and they could not guarantee that 2 separate sets would perform up to speed.

I would use it again, but only if the price was right.
