First, my setup:

A64 3200+ Venice 939
Biostar Tforce 6100-939
Redline XP4000 2x512
WD 250GB Sata HDD

The problem I am having is I can't get these guys to run right at 250 fsb together. My system will power on just fine, and load windows, etc... but they do fail memtest, superpi, prime95.

I've set the timings manually, I have the CPU set at stock so that it doesn't affect anything.

The weird thing is I have run them one at a time, and they perform perfect. I ran 30 passes of Memtest on each one seperatley at DDR500 with 2-2-2-6 timings with 0 errors.

My mobo's bios has multiple options for the memory divider:
200, 216, 233, 250 fsb... at 233 is where the errors start popping up like crazy when the sticks are run together.

My mobo has a jumper for Vdimm to give them 3.2v-3.3v, usually closer to 3.3 according to bios.

My question is does this sound like a voltage problem? mobo problem? RAM problem? If voltage, would it be worth a try with the OCZ ddr booster?

Here is a pic of the timings according to A64 tweaker and cpu-z...

If you need anymore info, by all means ask...

I forgot to mention right now I'm running them at DDR400 with those same timings @ 3.2-3.3V; is that safe?

Also, for cooling I'm using one of these Abit fans http://www.hardwareluxx.de/Images/Abit/Fatal1ty/01290027.jpg

Thanks

i have the Mushkin 2x1GB XP4000 991483 kit (not red line, but probably close) and have had a similar problem. i could not get both modules running at the stock settings (DDR500, 3-8-4-3). i would boot into windows, but it would be very unstable - i'd have all sorts of wierd errors and random reboots.

i then ran my system with 1 module at a time. it worked beautifully at stock settings with just one of them but the other one was extremely unstable. I went to the mushkin support forums, tried all the settings recommended by the Mushkin support guys (who are very helpful, btw) and finally decided that one module must be busted. I got my RMA number and will be sending them back for replacements this week.

my recommendation to you is to go to the Mushkin Support Forums and to make a post in their "Technical Support" section. The mushkin people monitor it carefully and will usually get a helpful response back to you the same (business) day. They can also tell you how to RMA the chips if that's indeed what needs to be done.

Thanks for the reply, this post is pretty much a copy/paste from their technical support forum I posted last night.

The thing with mine is they both run perfect on their own, neither one is messed up when by themselves. This is really making me believe that it is a voltage issue, they need more juice. I think the recommended voltage is 3.3-3.6 and I'm barely giving them 3.3; more like 3.25.

My dillema now is to try out the ocz ddr booster, or go all out and snag a DFI Ultra-D which has a max vdimm of 4.0V  I can grab that board for 75 used and sell my Tforce. Ahhhh...

Ya man, this kind of stinks...

I'm looking at getting a whole new motherboard, just hoping that the RAM will work in it. If not I'm SOL. Also, I purchased these used so an RMA would be a pain; if even possible.
