I know my motherboard is compatible with 1066mhz and 800mhz but if i got the redline which is at 1000mhz would that work in my motherboard?

BTW, in case you don't know, only the 64 bit version of windows recognizes more than 3.2GB of ram. 8GB's is a lot of memory so I hope you have this detail covered.

I have this ram (Mushkin redline XPS-8000) and let me tell you that it is a biotch getting a new mobo to boot with it (or an existing mobo should your CMOS settings get dumped for any reason).

The SPD is such that it convinces the board to post with the ram set to DDR2-1000 but the ram can barely run at that speed at the CMOS default voltage of 1.8V.

So just be prepared to find yourself digging into your case, pulling all your ram but one stick so you can get the fricken board to post long enough for you to get into the BIOS and change the voltage to 2.1V and reboot before the computer freezes.
