Hey guys I was wondering if i should get another gig of ram now or wait until i really need it. Its getting pretty hard and expensive to find Mushkin level II now.

So my question is what RAM should i get for best performance. I have my RAM at the lowest latencies, and am very happy with it. Will i need to get the same kind of RAM to do that with anothr gig. Does it even matter to have two kinds in there. Just want low latencies w 2 gigs. I'm a gamer and do a lot of photo editing (novice).
Thanks

memory prices are ridiculous right now. however, it could be very difficult (and costly) to find a matched stick in the future.

i'd say that as long as you're not into benchmarking, you won't really notice the difference between unmatched sticks as opposed to matched ones. If you aren't overclocked, the only difference you will see (but not necessarily notice) are the memory timings.

so i'd say that if you really need 2 gigs for photo editing (all games out right now run fine with 1 gig) you should look for some sort of cost efficient ram cuz of the skyrocketing ram prices. Otherwise, i'd wait until they either settle down or you trade a limb for a stick of mushkin lvl2.
