mushkin partnering up with nvidia?

Thats actually kind of cool then compared to say a metal briefcase that I think Sapphire uses for the Atomic cards [iirc] or just a cardboard box. I would also think it to be more sturdy during shipping.

they're going to sell nvidia AND ati cards?

wouldn't that make them the only company that's been allowed to do such?

Uh, no?

XFX does it, ASUS does it. There's probably a couple more.

was unaware. the market used to be quite divided with a few oem's for each chipmaker, it's all quite complicated now.

yet another graphics mfg.

If they have good support and warranty why not?

Exactly. They make good memory products so if they can make some good cards as well, the more the merrier.

Mushkin is a great company where customer service is still important. I bought numerous memory kits from them and like to do business over the phone. I've had good conversations with their sales people; they like it there. The owner comes in every day and sits right down the hall from them, first name basis and laid back.

I'll never forget my first high performance memory kit. It came packed in an air pak, the guy overnighted at a ground rate. Felt bad I got ripped off trying to buy Mushkin from some ebay scammer. Even sent me a Muskin tee shirt.

Bring on the cards Mushkin..

Wooden box? And I thought Asus's graphics card came in fancy packaging.
There's a nice feeling to it, but it just makes it harder to recycle, and once it's out of the box, all that matters is the card anyway.

Palit/Gainward as well.

Hmmm, maybe it is easier to just list companies that DON'T make both? 😕

Those were back in the AGP days and they never caught on because Crucial just used their regular RAM on them (at least the Radeon 7500/8500 cards), meaning they were the slowest performing cards on the market.

Mushkin cards from Nvidia are available for some time now. If I'm not mistaken they had a green ugly 8800 GT an year ago. This is old news.

Heh, you're right! It is green and it is ugly. 😛

But hey, at least there's no creepy looking alien dude on the heatsink shroud. 😛

Being used to dual slot coolers and fancy, non-green PCBs, aside from the VGA cooler, that card looks so 1998.

The more the merrier, though, especially if Mushkin has good customer service and lifetime warranties like EVGA and XFX. 🙂

DOH!

My co-workers were going "WTF" to me because I bought a GTX 285 for myself and took one that did not yet have graphics applied, so it is all black (with NVIDIA logo on edge and black/green swooshy-thing on the fan cover).

I think our senior director of marketing really likes the character that keeps appearing on BFG graphics cards, and I know he's good friends with our graphics artist that draws it. We did just hire another guy so you will soon see a few BFG products that do not have creepy alien glowy-eye dude on it. 😀

Oh god please.

I don't know one person who likes the creepy looking creature man face guy...

I sure don't.
