I am putting my future system specs together, and I'd like to know what memory I can get away with and still have decent overclocking potential.

I've read here on Anandtech that the new 90nm Athlon 64s can be overclocked to as high as 2.6 GHz. Would I be limiting my ability to overclock if I bought 2x512MB Mushkin Green PC3200 memory sticks? Do I need to pay $250 for 1 gig of OCZ 3200EL in order to have good overclocking ability?

Thanks.

Just make sure you buy a mobo with dividers at 100/133/166/200 at least. If you have that you can still o/c and keep the ram speed down. You'll probably end up going with the 133 divider with that mushkin green.

Oh, and just because Anand reached certain speeds with that OCZ ram doensn't mean you will. I learned that lesson the hard way. :D
