Hi all !
I just purchased the Mushkin Callisto 60GB SSD for a customer. I paired this with an ASUS 880g board, Athlon quad core (the budget one w/o the L3 cache), 4GB G-Skill DDR3 budget RAM, and a 500 Gb WD blue HDD for media.
I selected AHCI in BIOS, powered up the Win7 x64 install, that took about 15 minutes to complete. The usable formatted space was 55GB, which was more than I expected. After installing Win7, Adobe CS collection, and a few other apps I still have about 36 GB free. Did the SSD tweaks, left the standard MS AHCI driver and I was off and running. Boot takes about 15 secs, about 5 to shutdown. I did not benchmark it, but WEI gives it a 7.7 if that tells you anything. This is my first ever SSD build and I have to say Im very impressed !
Just wanted to post this in case anyone was looking at the Callisto....
Take care
