Mushkin 2GB (2x1GB) DDR500 (PC4000) Memory Kit $149 AR

Hi, i borrowed it from Lamah on SDs, but i did get the links though, 😀

Mushkin 2GB (2x1GB) DDR500 (PC4000) Memory Kit $149

NewEgg has the mushkin eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 500 (PC 4000) Dual Channel Kit System Memory (991483) for $209.50 - $30 off Promo Code [code deleted by the MOD for breaking a rule-google for the code, for there is one!] - $35MIR(Exp 4/11) + $4.81 shipping = $149.31. Cas Latency: 3, Timing: 3-4-3-8

Well here is where i need some help! I am building my first rig and i bought this same memory a few weeks ago, but i got one stick (only one GB), and now it is too late to return because i took out the UPC for a rebate. So, should i go ahead and buy this one anyway? I am under the impression that is best to have this memory in pairs.
Thanks!! 😀

I made a post earlier about this, but a mod said no codes for some reason. Actually this was the exact thing I wanted to tell everyone. Pretty good deal. I'm glad someone put it up.

The MIR is expired, it was valid with purchases on 03/02/06 through 03/16/02. The $30 promo code works.

Might want to change the title to reflect the price difference.

Oh, really, well, could it be okay to tell people to google for a coupon that is 'around' on the net???
Let me know, i do not want to get a warning!!! 🙁

No, the rebate is not expired.

Here is what says:

1. Purchase Mushkin 2GB XP4000 Dual Pack from Newegg.com between
03/13/2006 and 3/27/2006.
2. You must provide a copy of the original store identified sales receipt showing
purchase between 03/13/2006 and 3/27/2006.
3. Enclose the original Mushkin insert (info. card) from inside module packaging
4. Must be postmarked by 04/10/06 to qualify.
5. Handwriting (email address included) must be legible for your claim to be processed
6. PLEASE BE SURE TO MAKE COPIES OF ALL DOCUMENTATION

NOW, please, pretty please, someone answer my question about the memory issue i am having!!! 😀

Hmmmm....maybe ...maybe not?!?

It states two time frames of eligibility (03/13/2006 and 3/27/2006) & (03/02/2006 through 03/16/2006)😕. Might want to confirm which dates are correct.
Rebate center is open M-F 8-6 MST.

In the fine print, under terms and conditions :

"This mail in rebate is valid only with purchases on 03/02/2006 through 03/16/2006..."

As far as your question, you might get more responses in another section, such as Motherboards or CPU/Processors. I would assume a few variables (mobo,CPU, etc.) will determine the answer. I am also under the impression, buying memory in pairs/quads is the best for dual channel systems and that it must be paired to run in dual channel. I have read, that matching as close as possible is best,(even down to the same date, batch, etc.).

Good luck on your first build!

Btw, might want to check out the Sticky.

Here is why the other thread was locked, from "Hot Deals Forum Rules - Please read before posting" :

"What about COUPONS and PROMOTIONAL CODES?

Coupon or promotion numbers.

Links to scans of coupons other than those listed, above.

We may not catch every violation of these rules, but if you post it, and we catch it, your account may be locked without further warning.

Could anyone help me out with this?

From a performance standpoint, what would better: the Mushkin mentioned above, or this G.Skill? Both are DDR500, and I am looking to order one or the other today. Thanks!

I'm in for a pair...thanks for ALL the information!! And I don't doubt for a second that the rebate will be good even with the conflicting dates on the rebate form. The larger and bolder print at the top will prevail over the smaller print down below (plus NE will catch hell if the rebate is refussed due to a date issue😉)

Bud

I tried 3 different models of Mushkin PC3200 High Performance memory and could get none of them to work in my system (see sig), even at the very loose SPD settings.

Posting coupon/promotion codes are not allowed. I don't know if you read AznKwaiJai's post in your thread, but if he's telling you the Mods told him no coupons codes. You should realize that this will mean this thread too.

This is from the rules Hot Deals Forum Rules

DO NOT post:
Coupon or promotion numbers.

Links to coupon numbers you could not post, here.

Links to scans of coupons other than those listed, above.

Requests for others to post or send you coupon numbers or offers to send them to anyone else.

Edit:
If the code were on Newegg's website for all to see and use, the Mods would probably allow it. Since it was unique to a Newegg email newsletter (I also received one), it won't be allowed to be posted here. Yes you can say "google for the code" or "located at your favorite coupon site" (without telling the name), but don't link to the code or the site that has the code.

Yea...I would really like to know if these are better OCers than the G. Skill DDR500 since its the same price w/o MIR.
Looking at the Mushkin reviews it seems to perform about the same. It comes down to price and compatibility with your motherboard. I chose the G.Skills because I found reviews from people with my board. That bit of homework paid off as mine are running stable.
