yeah, my brother got some of this, initially in January. First time a stick was DOA. After an RMA to newegg, 2nd time around both sticks have all kind of errors in memtest386 and also showed as 3-4-4. Multiple newegg reviews appear to show similar problems. He finally RMA'd through Mushkin and got something that works. But all that RMA shipping adds up.
Makes me suspect Newegg knows they're sitting on a massive load of crap with this stuff and is happily trying to get rid of it to anyone who doesn't test their memory.

How does this compare to the Kingmax that newegg offers?
I didn't say most of the reviews were bad, just multiple ones. Look at the most recent ones, from the last 2 months. Notice that the bad comments are hidden in 4 and 5 star reviews there. Maybe people have discovered that Newegg won't delete your comments if you mask them with a high rating, heh heh. Also consider how many people probably don't test RAM if things actually "work", and may not know for a while that they're experiencing data corruption. There are also some threads on forums.mushkin.com with the same problems.Originally posted by: eLiu
Most of the reviews on newegg are good...?

That kingmax isn't very good. I had 1x512 of Geil value in a computer which was overclocked to 223mhz (2800+ 64). I put the kingmax in and i couldn't even get it to overclock at 210. I am now running the computer at stock speeds because of this ram. I will probably sell it on ebay and then buy some more ram. My brother has a stick of the muskin and it works very well for him but he is not going over 200mhz (Athlon XP) system.

So because value ram doesn't overclock well it is therefore bad?
