Muscle Car or Coffee Can?

Personally, I can't help but bust a gut when a honda civic or acura integra pull up to me and rev their mario-kart sounding toys. With all of the wings, stickers, coffee cans, and clear tailights they look like something out of a happymeal. I just don't understand buying a 16,000 dollar car, putting 5,000 grand of "performance parts" in it, and it still isn't anywhere as quick as a stock mustang/camaro/firebird/pinto. It wouldn't bother me all that much but I drive a 98 Mustang in Houston, so I ALWAYS have the jap crappers trying to race me and prove that their muffler isn't just for sh1tz and giggles. Usually when they do I just point and laugh at their lame asses.

So which do you prefer? The rumble, or the coffee can?

I prefer German, although I can't afford it yet :) My first car will probably be the new 2002 Nissan Altima. Looks so nice :)

Japanese made cars are made well... in know that. I just don't get the whole speed thing.

"Jap Cr@p" is offensive? What the hell is this world coming too? Bunch of lillies in this world. Everyone takes sh1t too fukking literal these days. Oversensative crybabies! I oughta kick your pansy asses!

just to clarify, I am not being serious you gullable bastards.

I am not the biggest fan of Mustangs or Camaros, etc. But, I do love the Viper. I would rather get the Viper before I ever purchased any Honda, Acura (even the NSX) or other Japanese car.

I would rather have the immense horsepower of the Viper (or the Venom, actually).

Japanese cars look pretty cool - by that I mean, the 93 RX7, MKIV Supra, 90-96 Nissan 300zx and the Mitsubishi 3000GT, Acura NSX, even the Subaru SVX, but all the other Hondas and Civics, Integras, etc. - they all look like crap. They look even worse when you put stupid stickers or huge coffee cans on them.

I do like the wings tho - it makes you think the car is going to fly, when, really, it can barely move forward at an accetpable speed. :)

German cars are pretty good. Unfortunately, they are infamous for electrical problems. My BMW 325 had what seemed like unending electrical problems. My friends 944 had none stop electrical problems as did my ex girlfriends Jetta.

Now don't get me wrong, If i could have any american made car it would be the viper... Duh! You guys are starting to talk about 50k+ cars... budget baby budget. the NSX is a horrible excuse for a performace sportscar. 100k yet still miles behind cars half it's price.

Yeah, I've seen the "fit and finish" on Toyotas and it is lovely. But, I liken that to polishing a turd :p

Well, they aren't that bad, and I suppose you get what you pay for to some extent, but I believe you have to start with a good foundation before worrying about the window dressing. A unibody, FWD, 4-banger is NOT what I call a good foundation. It might suit some people, but that's NOT what you buy a sports car for, is it?

So where do I fall? :) I have a 88 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z. It has tinted windows and no muffler at all on its 4 cylinder engine. It is also turbocharged and runs the 1/4 in about 13.8 :)

At the very least, the image those cars convey is less then classy. Its conveys cheap, noisy, and unrefined:p bmw/most any european car=definetly more class/quality, japanese=reliability/quality, korean=cheap/small/junk american luxury=large boat like cars for old white ppl. etc.. yes its stereo typing, but thats the way things are.

mustang = fun to race, youthfule.
bmw = you've got a lot of cash

big difference. $10k car for racing has nothing to do with a $39K (new optioned out 328) car.

they both have 4 wheels and seats, but thats about it.

rice cars = some horrib abomination of a lemming mobile(read honda), its so plain that you have to put horrible stuff on it to distinguish yourself.

I don't understand why german cars, when you put a kit on it, looks very nice, but honda's you kit it , its rice. What are these folks thinking? I guess it sells. If my kid ever thinks rice for their car i'll be taking the keys away.
