murderer makes you choose between your parents, SO, and kids...who do you choose?

How do I know that? Based on the description he's just some random dude with a gun. I'm gonna get my ass shot trying to find out. Thats my choice. If I'm lucky I'll manage to get in one of my thumb to eye gouges before I go down, I can only assume by dad will be right behind me.

Does he have an AK or a 9mm pistol? I'm pretty confident I can take a couple 9mm rounds to the body and keep on coming, provided I'm determined...or a little drunk.

How can you choose who to sacrifice between your loved ones? Geez. If the situation ever happened, I can even begin to imagine what I would be thinking, and I don't think I can really "plan" for this either.
