"Hugo Selenski, who was charged after charred human remains were found in his backyard, escaped from Pa. prison by climbing down rope made out of bedsheets"
FoxNews.com

And you think the prision system would make break-away sheets by now or at least not give the prisioners 50 sheets.

ins't this the oldes trick in the book???

this happened right in my hometown area of wilkes-barre...

and by the way, they only have 4 bedsheets per cell (2 per inmate), the rope was made out of 12, they're investigating where the other 8 came from

Selenski did not attempt the jailbreak by himself. His fellow prisoner, Scott Bolton, plummeted from the prison's mezzanine level ? about five floors up ? during the descent. He suffered broken bones and internal injuries and was in critical condition at Hershey Medical Center.

oops :)

you gotta think about it this way.. these prisoners have 24hrs a day to outsmart the
guards.

then you have the guards who don't really care because they make crap for
wages. so security is sacrificed. smuggling an extra sheet here and there
would be EASY. Not to mention one prisoner could pay off another prisoner
for sheets, information, tools needed to break the window, etc.

My bigger concern was how 41 talibans escaped at one.. And bush is going
to say he is doing everything he can to insure american safety.. YEAH RIGHT.

After 20 years and the rank or leutinant or captain then yeah they make ALOT
more..

I do not know how much they start off with, but it was on the news maybe 6-9 month ago that they got a raised and now average salary was 100,000 and yes this is one big reason why state of ca was thinking of cutting California highway patrol officer, instead of cutting pay of prison guards.

Ok, I'm calling BS on the $100,000. I just found this:

""The starting pay, $2,809 per month, is the third highest in the nation" behind New Jersey and Alaska, reports Katie Hagen, CDC recruiter. Top salary is $4,574 per month for a correctional officer and there is no cap for retirement age. Officers can retire at age 50 with 90 percent of their income."

No. They were probably just referring to the Higher ups making the 100k figure. Like captains, wardens, doctors, etc.
