Munich Movie Thread

I searched for Munich the movie but there was a brief talk about previews and no one with actual feedback

It was weird, this was one of the few movies I've ever watched where there was a line that formed an hour before its showtime--

Onto the movie itself: I think Spielberg was too worried about the 'art' of the movie. I'm no movie critic, but the film and picture itself was amazing. If any of you watched it, remember the huge family dinner scene when Eric Bana? The high contrast but lacking vibrant color, old fashioned scene made me gasp for air, it was so beautiful.

I think the movie was great, and it would have been amazing if it wasn't 3 hours long. Spielberg seemed to make it drag on and on, I couldn't pinpoint a climax either.

It was worth my $9 though.

I thought it was great too, at first (from the previews) I thought it was about the actual kidnappings, but once that all ended in like 15 minutes, I figured it was probably about the israelis who retaliated.

Fresh Air from WHYY, January 3, 2006 · Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner co-wrote the screenplay for the new Stephen Spielberg film Munich. Kushner won a Pulitzer for his 1993-1994 play Angels in America, which was performed in two parts and set in New York in the mid-1980s in the midst of the AIDS epidemic.

Angels in America sucked. The first couple of episodes were rpetty good, but then it degraded into a slow-mo bubble-gum feel-good for gays and AIDS-infected, cry them a freaking river.

As for the Munich, I haven't seen it yet, but a couple of my friends saw it, and they were pretty pissed off.

Just saw Munich tonight. I would highly recommend it.

Just saw Munich too, truely Oscar material with such weak competition this year.. surprised it didn't get more pub' then it did, some controversial stuff in there. Speilberg FTW yet again!

Neither did I, but I am also neither a Jew or a terrorist.

I thought it did a decent job of showing both "sides" to the story. I didn't once think "Oh, this movie wants me to feel bad for the terrorists.." or anything like that.

I came out of the movie with two sentiments.

1) The Israelis, and Mossad, are total bastards.
2) The Palestinians are total bastards.

This conflict will never, EVER end, until one group is destroyed. I liked the movie, personally, and I thought Eric Bana did a great job.
