Multiview card, different resolutions with different monitors

Guys,

I have a 2450 ATI fire MV card which has four outputs. I have connected 4 full hd monitors of same brand, same make/model/size. It gives me a perfect resolution of 1920x1080 on all the screens. My problem starts when i change the brand make and model of any of the 2 or 1 monitor. Inspite of them being Full HD they get more resolution of 2048x1536. If i set the resolution to 1920x1080 the screens look okay but if i move my mouse over the screen the display scrolls in and i can see the area 2048x1536. I can't freeze the monitor/s at 1920x1080. The easiest way is to buy all 4 monitors of the same make but in my case i wont be doing that as my setup requires that 2 monitors will be conventional 42 inch LCD's and the other 2 will be 21.5 computer monitors all having full hd capabilities. I have not tried connecting the 42" LCD's yet but i think it will give me the same problem. Please advice.

Regards
Sid.

Sounds like a driver problem. The FireMV card should have come with pro-level support, so just call up AMD and see what they have to say.

mfenn thanks,

Called AMD. They said it is a signal frequency issue and i should try to change the cables. This i still cant figure out. Anyways since i was using VGA cables coz i had them in various sizes to suit my need changed them to DVI. For the 42" monitors got a DVI HDMI convertor and connected the 42" LCD with the HDMI cable. To my suprise it worked. Now all the monitors have a fixed resolution of 1920x1080 no matter what brand/make/size. I tried this using 3 21.5" monitors and 1 42" monitor. I think the setup which i plan to make will work once i buy another 42" lcd.

Thanks again.
Sid.

Ah yes, you should have mentioned that you were using VGA! The cards only have one clock generator for VGA signals, so AMD's answer was spot on.

Sounds like you got it working correctly with DVI, so you are good to go.
