Multipurpose paper vs. Copy paper - Any difference?

Just curious if there's any real difference between copy paper and paper sold as multipurpose (assuming the same brightness/weight). Or whether it's the same paper marketed to a different crowd.

You will have to look at it.

Copier paper is probably bottom of the line but good for most purposes.

Does it come down to just the weight and brightness? Or does multipurpose paper have a coating that copy paper doesn't have?
