multipliers on ASUS A7N8X

Is it true that when OC the mobile bartons on ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe mobo you can't use higer multiplier but 12?? Right now i have XP non-mobile 2400 and on default it's set to 15x but I can't bump the multipiler to 16x 16.5x and 17x. What I mean is that why can't I use the multipliers above 12x when working with XP-M if I can do so with my current CPU??
 
AMD does set a processor to use either the higher or lower multipliers. See the following articles for info on your processor. Note these do not apply to new desktop Bartons.

I ended up placing a wire in the socket to short the pins instead of tying a wire around the pins. Peace.
