So, I'm running a Q9550 and according to CPU-Z the multiplier is sitting at x6 all the time. My Mobo is the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L without any overclock. I took a look through the BIOS to see if I could find a place to turn off SpeedStep, but I didn't see anything that looked appropriate. Any ideas?Sorry about the rating :(

Is this a new build?

Did you try loading optimized defaults in bios?

CPU-Z will show at 6x multiplier if no load on your cpu. Did you try loading the cpu with prime or something?

Yup... Windows Power Settings - I had it on Power Saver and it set the max CPU Performance to 50%. I cranked it up to 100% and launched Prime 95, now I've got my 2833.0 MHZ :)

Thanks so much :) Stickies weren't around when I posted and tbh I skipped over that one so many times I didn't even remember it was there.
