i downloaded the patch hack that was put out here before, and since i've been having all manner of instability issues with this machine.

how do i set the registry back to what it was?

Just delete the registry key that you put in there.

Search for that other thread, and I'm sure you'll find it.

i searched for the other thread... i cant do full text searching, so i have no idea what to do.

i'm dead in the water.

Unzip the file, open the .reg file in notepad, and paste it here in the forums, I'll tell you what key to delete.

did you not subscribe to the other thread?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

The two MaxConnections keys you should be able to delete and you should be back to normal.

found and deleted.

i suddenly thought i screwed something up because when i rebooted my computer, it couldnt find the lan.

so i spent 5 minutes resetting all the cables, rebooting my switch, everything i could think of, then i get a brilliant idea. i go to the other room to see if someone had undone the cable that goes from the switch to my room.

sure enough, at that exact moment, my b1tch of a sister decided to sabotage my network connection.

i plugged it back in, and even norton is back to normal now. everything's working great 🙂

stupid hack, that was.
