Multiple TV tie in

Hello all!

I have a small shop and a following problem. I have recently put up 2 tvs, hanging from ceiling, between the tills (cash registers). The are arranged in the following manner: till1, tv, till2, till3, tv,till4. The tvs hang above the passage ways between the tills and play commercials from a usb memory stick.

What i want to do: Have a small over lay on each side of the tv with the till number. So the screen looks like this:
TV_Scr.pngb7

Once the till is operational the the side bar changes to green otherwise stays red.

Is it possible to do this? Where do i start?

Will appreciate any help from all yee gurus =)

So the TVs themselves play the media directly from the memory sticks? There's no computer in the middle? That doesn't sound promising.

How would you even get the "till" information out of the "till"s?

Honestly it is probably much simpler to get some sign panels and simply attach them to each side of the TV. But, I know nothing about these things. That's my KISS solution.

You're going to need some sort of digital signage device or a PC utilizing something like a PowerPoint with a video embedded in the middle and and side bars with text. That's probably the easiest solution. Look into the Intel Nuc (or whatever computer) and then split the HDMI output to both TVs.

That way you could update as needed and possibly add other info. Weather, special deals and whatnot.

Edit: sorry, I didn't realize you needed live data. That's a whole other ball game. If it's something static or only changed ever so often, that would be easy.
