I've been having some problems with my system the last few weeks or so.
and not sure if its my board,or Vid card.maybe even Ram.
After reinstalling windows the problems have started worse.
-while in a CS game,out of the blue my system will lock up,and i will get a constant game sound repeating itself.will have to hit the reset button to get out of the game.(Sometimes my sound will get an echo type sound in CS also)
-Every once in awhile (started the last 3 days) my screen will get a shaking screen.almost like a wavy/water type screen just for a split second then back to normal.
it will do this no matter what i'm doing,browsing,gaming,Modeling etc etc.
-And lastly,after coming out of a game or programs,my start button will be all screwed up.
will either be all brown,brown with small lines,or it will be all teal color.cannot see the word "Start" in it.just all colored out. (seems the color changes per game/Program i'm running.)
The only thing i can think that i had a problem with after Windows reinstall,was the ATA66 PCI Mass storage controller.i had alot of problems installing the drivers for this so i ended up running the HD's/Cdroms on the standard controller.
other then that,everything is installed with the latest Drivers.
(also had a problem running the system higher then a 100 FSB,would get lines on screen,and lcokups similiar to the lockups i get now.but i get no lines in a game now)
System Specs:
Abit BE6 Board
PIII 800 (Have tried 3 different CPU's/and different FSB)
384 Mb PC133 Ram (have tried quite a few different sticks of Ram/only one may be the same)
Geforce2 MX 32Mb AGP
Aureal Platinum PCI Soundcard
20G WD HD
HP IDE CDRW
3Com ISA NIC
Any help wih this would be greatly appreciated.
i'm thinking the board may just be going out.
