Multiple RAID 0 Volumes??

Hi - I've never ever used RAID so please forgive my ignorance, but this is what i did.

I have two 500gb disk, I used the Intel Matrix to create a 40GB RAID 0 volume, and a second RAID 0 volume of ~ 800 GB. ( Thinking on the lines of how you partition a single disk to two drives)

I installed vista 64 bit on the 40 GB RAID 0 volume. However in vista I can not see my second 800GB RAID 0 volume. I only see the 40GB one. I thought I would have a C:\ with 40GB and a D:\ with 800GB.

What did i do wrong? Is it even possible to do what i'm trying to do??

Thanks.

Nitin.

Have you checked in Disk Manager or are you just looking in My Computer or Windows Explorer?

When i check device manager, it shows me the two volumes. Intel Matrix Storage Console also shows me the two volumes. However in My Computer or Explorer the second volume does not show and i can not use it to save files etc.

never used raid as well, but arent you supposed to go into computer management under administrative tools in control panel, and then format a partition (striped partition for raid 0) before windows can recognize the volumes in windows explorer?

Hey TC91 - Thanks for the suggestion, that worked !

I formated the partition under admin tools->computer management and now i'm able to see the partition under explorer.

That goes for any hard drive you add as well that isn't formatted, not unique to raid.
