Multiple processor question

Can you run as many so-called "distrubuted computing" applets as processors on your PC? Not like this applies to me, just wondering.

Sure... I do it! 🙂

With windud 2K I set the affinity for each process so I might have seti@home on one processor while folding@home runs on the other...

Sure can! I've currently got 5 dual-cpu boxes at home now; depending on which DC Project that you're involved in, the task of setting it up can be very easy to somewhat easy. In the case of RC5/OGR/GF(?), the client supports multiple processors natively, so it's very easy to set up - when I had my 6-way Pentium Pro 200 box, I used it to run RC5 because it was easier to set up than the SETI client was. With SETI, you need need to run a seperate instance of each client.. much easier to do with the Command Line Interface(CLI), as each instance can be put into a seperate directory, and some parameters modified on the program line. Unfortunately, the SETI client has not been made yet to support multiple CPUs(at least not the x86 version anyway) - it would be a big help if it were.
