First, One of my friends owns a duron 800 system using an ECS board, he has constantly had problems with NIC cards, ever since i first built the computer with a slot-A board. The strange part is that every time he physically moves his computer his network card stops working. Windows sees the card, just wont talk to anything, weve tried different cards...different cables....different OS....everything! once you leave the computer in a certain location it used to start working within a few hours. Just recently my friend moved home from college and his computer had the same symptoms as always...but it has nearly been a week and no improvment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Second, I have a server system with an Abit BP6 and 2x366 Celerons everything on the system works fine but when i add a zip drive into the mix...my computer will crash during the boot process...i think it is power related and am going to get a new power supply to test soon. The system specs are as follows
Abit BP6
2x366 Celeron
256mb pc133
20gig maxtor
Adaptec scsi
plextor 40x scsi
panasonic 8x burner scsi
2x realtek nics
trident blade 8mb video agp
atapi zip 100 (problem child)
300watt Deer? PSU...*(suspected cause)
any other ideas?
Thanks!
