They were spotted sleeping in rest area by Maryland State Trooper.

Somebody called the tipline to report Muhamed told them details about the case
only police should know.
John Muhamed stayed near the house where authoriteis
retrieved the tree stump.. bullets in the stump were found to be similar to those of the sniper.
Sniper hinted to police (in one of they letters? that they did a crime
in Montgomery, ALabama
A liquor store was robbed in Montgomery ALabma, where two people were shot, one killed
2 weeks before sniper killings started.
A credit card was stolen during the robery.. it had the same card number as the card the sniper wanted
police to send $10 million to.
Police somehow linked Muhamed to Alabama .. (he does look like the police sketch of the Alabama suspect)

Yes, apparently. However, I'm concerned about the last name - Muhammad. I'm not trying to sterotype, but I really hope this is not "terrorist related" to al Queda.
Kudos needs to go to the observant people who spotted the Chevrolet Caprice parked at a rest area and tipped the police off. Apparently, these two individuals were sleeping when the police arrived.
It is believed that Mr. Muhammad was traveling with his 17-year-old stepson. So much for "family values."

on Oct 9 by Baltimore police, but let go however
the incident was noted.
John Mohamed's car plates were reported at one of the sniper scenes, and
that traced back to the Baltimore incident
Lee Malvo was suspected in Richmond, and stayed at a hotel room near
the phone booth where the sniper called from, but police went to the wrong phone booth
and picked up the Mexican immigrants by mistake.
They did extract DNA evedence from the Econolodge hotel room Malvo stayed in.

...police found a piece of paper at the scene of the Montgomery shooting that bore Malvo's fingerprints. Police then traced Malvo to a Tacoma house where he had been living with Williams, the paper said...

Just a thought......... do you think terrorist cells in US or other countries will take this idea of serial snipers & use it to cause wide spread terror? That would be crazy having 6-10 different terror cells sniping around the country.
