multiple PDAs syncing to one computer?

I have a palm IIIxe and just got a (free thanks to the Hot Deals forum...) handspring visor deluxe. I'd like to be able to sync both up to one computer. According to handspring, the way to do it is give each device a different username and then the palm desktop software will keep their data separate. What I want though is both to have the SAME data (address book, calendar, etc) but install different software to them. Any way to do this easily? The only thing I've found is to give them different names and then import data from one to the other in the desktop software, though this will create lots of duplicate entries that I'd have to manually delete. Any better suggestions? (according to handspring, giving both devices the same name will cause major problems in synchronizing)
