multiple PC configuration on Alcatel ADSL 1000 modem?

I'm trying to get 2 computers connected to my Alcatel ADSL 1000 modem, but it's not working. On the second computer I copy all the settings from the ISP guide and it works when the other computer is off, but if I change the IP address and turn on the other computer, this one can't connect. Does this modem support multi-computer connections?

If it turns out to be a single user modem then you'll need to get a router/gateway. Preferably one with multiple ports so you won't need a hub behind that. Check out Alcatel's website for specs, they may even have a toll free number. "Hmmm . . . toll free" 😉

As far as I know the Alcatel ADSL 1000 is a regular DSL ?modem?, i.e. by it self can not do too much.

If you want to share the connection, you have to make sure that you have a minimal functioning network, and config for the sharing of your choice.
