multiple nics... easy? wlbs?

I popped another NIC in my computer for fun and I was wondering how I could get the requests and traffic to be split across the NICs? Sorta like Raid 0 for NICS? Thanks!

In the vast majority of cases, there is no way to set up the system to do what you're trying to do.

Give up. It's hopeless without a semi-major infusion of cash.

Unless you have "Server" NICs that support "teaming," and a compatible switch to plug 'em into, it won't work.

The bandwidth out of your LAN (LAN-->WAN) probably wouldn't support the extra bandwidth anyway.

Yeah, it's pretty difficult if not impossible to do. Plus, 100 mbit NIC's are probably not the bottle neck in most computers.

If you're running a Windows OS you can possibly get the Intel 10/100 S Pro dual NIC. At the driver level it allows you to load balance or do several other neat things with the 2 RJ-45 ports. Like Scottmac said, you'll need a switch that can support that kind of thing. I doubt consumer level switches do though if someone can prove me wrong on that I'd be happy! 🙂
