Multiple monitors

So i currently have one 1920x1080 monitor, i'm currently trashing a 7 or so year old pc. It has a monitor that is aproximately 15-18 inches, not exactly sure. It's resolution is like 1020x800 or something similar. I was wondering if i could use this as a second monitor for my newer computer with that 1920x1080 montior. And if it is, is it even worth using as a 2nd monitor?

If you have another monitor lying around why not. It helps having more viewing area to multitask. If table space is a constraint and what you have is a CRT then most probably not a good idea.

catho ray tube? IDK, you can google it....but he is saying if it is a fat monitor (i.e. not a flat screen LCD that is only a few inches think), then it might not be worth it if you don't have space for it.

Give it a shot..what's the worse you have to lose? If you don't like it, take the monitor off your desk, but I would always choose dual monitors!

You don't know what's a CRT monitor? Never mind, since you do not know what it is then I assume that old monitor is a LCD type which is slim and won't take too much desk space.

Thanks to eagle eye i now know what it is, i just didn't know the name for it(sorry, new to all of this stuff) it is lcd and thin though, i could probably fit it pretty easily on my desk, just would have to move some of the junk on it desk.

If you've never had a multi-monitor system you're in for a treat. I have Anand on one monitor and Outlook, AIDA64 (system stats), Winamp and weather running on the other.

honestly didn't really like it, but thats probably because that massive differences in resolution and the fact that i really didn't know what i was doing. Not gunna bother, one monitor is fine with me anyway.

I have a second monitor. Even though I seldom use it, it's really nice to have when I actually do use it.
