I'm having a very large problem with my system. I will first post the specs of the system and then I will explain the problem:
Specs:
Enermax 400 watt PSU
Windows XP Prof. (build 2600 w/SP1)
Asus A7V266 motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 1600+ CPU no oc
768 MB DDR PC2100 Samsung memory no oc (256 x 3 banks. All I have are 3 banks on the mobo)
Geforce3 not oc'ed
PCI slots:
Slot 1 - Clear
Slot 2 - SCSI Controller
Slot 3 - IDE card
Slot 4 - Sound Blaster Live 4.1
Slot 5 - Netgear FA311 Network
Primary IDE and Secondary IDE devices:
IDE1 - Clear
IDE1 - HP Cd-Writer 8100+ 4x4x16
IDE2 - Pioneer DVD-Rom 8x
IDE2 - Western Digital 40GB
My SCSI devices are:
Internal:
Yamaha cd-writer 4x4x16
Seagate tape drive 8GB
External:
HP cd-writer 9600+ 16x12x40
IDE controller devices on PCI card:
IDE 1 - Western Digital 40GB
IDE 1 - Clear
IDE2 - Western Digital 30GB
IDE2 - Samsung 40GB
USB devices:
Micrsoft Intellimouse Optical
Iomega Zip 100
HP PSC 750 (printer copy scanner all in one)
ATI TV Wonder USB (Drivers not installed at moment)
My problem is that when I try to start up my computer sometimes on the IDE 2 on the PCI card (30GB Western Digital) the drive does not load or whatever ( so that I can see it on the BIOS for the PCI card before I go into windows). Also when I am in windows sometimes windows freezes up on me, and sometimes it decides to take up 3 minutes of doing nothing before it loads into Windows. Also on POGO for Hammerhead Pool whenever I try to play it windows freezes and I have tried installing different Java programs.
I know everything is installed correctly, such as the jumpers for the hard drives, and the PCI card is seated correctly. I don't think the RAM could be the problem even though all 3 dimms are filled because I have had this configuration for a while and nothing has gone wrong until I just recently installed a new hard drive because my old one was failing. Once that one failed, another one failed, and I got two new ones. My CPU is not overheated or anything, everything in the case runs around 88 degree's F. The CPU runs about 127 F.
If anyone has any idea what it could be please tell me I am really stumped and my computer keeps going down the friggen tube and I am confused why it locks up for no reason sometimes (especially in the morning when it is a little bit cold... Although I don't see why that would a problem, it never was) Does anyone know the Enermax PSU have problems or what it could be.
Thank You for any help anyone can provide.
