I just got another hard drive and I'd like to use both hard drives together on my K7T Pro2.. How would I go about doing this? I have the IDE1 cable plugged into the new hard drive and the IDE2 cable plugged into my CD-ROM drive.. If I plug my old hard drive into the other IDE extention (on the IDE2 cable from the CD-ROM drive) while having my new hard drive plugged into the IDE1 cable, the computer boots into Windows under the old hard drive.. If I changed it around (plug the IDE2 extention cable into the new hard drive and the IDE1 cable into the old hard drive), it starts to load Windows with the new hard drive, but it's going so slow that it takes about twenty minutes just to see the icons on the desktop.. What's wrong here? What do I have to do to use these hard drives together on this motherboard?

Well, ihave the same mobo as you. i am not sure if this is an issue with the mobo, but if you plug a faster ata with a slower ata drive on the same ide channel, it will use the slower ata. So, id suggest putting your faster one (or if they are the same ata, dont worry) on the ide1. Best suggestion is to just reformat your old hdd. Also, and forgive me if i sound condecending but you didnt mention if you did this yet, make sure that you have your master/slave settings correct. The formatting of your old hdd should fix the problem though.

Actually.. I have no clue about the slave/master settings on the old HD.. Are you talking about the ones on the hard drives itself (jumpers), or the ones in the BIOS? I've never done anything like this before with multiple hard drives, so.. I'm quite new to this..

You have jumpers on the devices (normaly).
And you should check your bios if everything is supported as it should be. You can always try autodetect if it is to much of a problem
