Multiple gmail accounts open at once?

I have two Gmail accounts which I'd like to have open on seperate tabs in firefox. But what happens when I open the second account in the second tab, the first account in the first tab switches to the second account.

I wanted to just be able to open both at the same time in a tab group to easily check email. Or should I just look around for a Gmail to pop3 program I guess...?

I'm think it does that because the gmail inbox auto refreshes and checks your cookie. once you login again it changes the cookie

here's a pop3 gmail app

another instance of firefox won't do it, you need to use another browser.

or use Gmail Notifier to check whether or not you have new e-mail. you still need to log out and in if you need to read it though.
