I thought I saw one long ago, but I'm looking for a VNC viewer that can show smaller "screenshots" of whats going on on a remote machine via VNC, so i can monitor a "grid" of computers all at the same time - does anyone know any software like this? I know I can run multiple instances, but i want smaller screenshots ina grid where i can specify howto connect to each one and how often to update, etc. Thanks.

I know my teacher has a program that allows him to do this. If an answer isnt posted by Monday evening, I'll tell you what he uses.

How many computers do you want to view?

I used to just run multiple instances of a vnc client and use the "screen scaling" option. Then I would just tile them on my desktop.

Probably not the most efficient way to do it, but it works.

So I gave it a short try.

While using Ultra VNC regular viewer you can set it to half screen scaling, that would actually give you a nice view of the whole remote Screen in half length, which is actually more like quarter in area size.

It I possible to start multiple Viewers and by using the half screen method you can monitor almost 4 full screens.

If set the controller computer?s screen resolution to be higher than the remote computers you can see Full 4 screens.

Similarly I.E can be used. I.e. can be scaled into variety of sizes (not just half screen as the original viewer does). However I.E. when scaled down will only show portion of the remote controlled screen and you have to use the frame slide bars to view the portion of interest.

Which one to use? Depends on what you want to Do.
