I often browse with multiple IE windows open. I start one page loading then browse off to some where else. Is there a setting to keep the windows that I started loading first from re opening over the top of the one I am currently viewing?

Have you tried using TweakUI to stop app windows from stealing the "focus"? You've probably heard this already, but Mozilla Firefox doesn't do any of that nonsense.

I don't see a setting to do that.
I have Firefox but can't get used to using it. Yet.

disable page transitions in the options advanced menu.
Didn't seem to help.
I wonder if it is just that site?

Do you have the "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" in the Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab>browsing disabled or enabled? Try that and see if this works.

It opens in a new window, it's just that it opens back to the previous window as I am browsing the current one.
