Multiple Black Friday Threads in HD

MrCodeDude has just started individual threads for each store for Black Friday ads. His original "official" (lol) thread was deleted by the mods because he was spamming for his BF site. How these are any different is beyond me.

Besides cluttering up the HD forum, by having the items listed AT is at risk for DMCA-related legal actions. AT's policy of not allowing coupon codes for legal reasons seems to contradict allowing these BF threads.

It is obvious that MrCodeDude's sole intention for all these posts is to advertise for his own site, as he has it prominently listed in his sig and mentions that ads came from the site.

I think one single thread is all we need - if that. As BF gets closer and more ads are released, the entire first page of the HD forum will be nothing but BF threads...

I think the master BF thread is a good idea, and I gave it a sticky through Thanksgiving weekend. It allows easy navigation to deals from the listed vendors without cluttering the forums with multiple sticky threads.

This version of MrCodeDude's posts do not violate our forum rules because the only links to his site are in his sig file. We notified him that, if we receive notification of any DCMA violations, these threads may be deleted without further notice.

I am just one moderator, and this is my personal opinion. I am posting this now to avoid any hostility in this thread. I have posted this subject for further discussion by all of our moderators to confirm or modify this action as appropriate.

I agree. The Mods should create their own stickied thread which people can post in. It's not that hard to Ctrl+F.
