Multiple axes in Colin McRae Rally 05

I've searched all around on Codemasters forums and Pinnacle Game Profiler (which I haven't really been able to set up right with my 360 controller, still using XBCD-360 with a L-R triggers as separate axis) and it seems its a common problem. All of the threads with the same problem as me had no replies or no correct solutions.

Makes me wonder if the fvcking game can even support it.

All I want to do is use the left analog stick for left-right steering (which I believe detects correctly in CMR05) and use brake as the left trigger, accel as the right trigger. But when trying to press these in the CMR05 control setup, it just makes some sort of error sound. The best I can do is use XBCD to set them to digital but that kinda takes away the point cause you have no analog control of the accel/brake.

I have them setup right in XBCD and Windows detects them as all separate axes, and they work as I want them to in TOCA3 and Live for Speed whcih are the only other racing games I have installed ATM.

Does anyone know a away to get it working like this with Pinnacle Game Profiler/ControlMK, or just any other way by changing something with XBCD?

I swear they made 05 like crap. Half the people in their forums said the wheel support was crap too. I found 04 to be squirrely as hell but that was with my wheel so I may try again with this 360 controller. I didn't like CMR3 that much but may try it again. Basically I really like CMR2 with my wheel, and I'm sure this controller would work okay with it too. Sad that their games get worse over the years.

Anyone have a solution?

ANy ideas?

Or any other good rally games? How about the older CMR.. do they support gamepad like I want to play? It's not asking much! Just a separate axes for brake and accel, and the standard x for left-right steering. 3 axis I guess total...Codemasters normally pulls crap like this though. There's hardly any good racing games for the PC. There wasnt when I bought my wheel many years back, and still isn't. ONE Forza or GT3/4 quality game is all that they would need. Hell even a semi-decent port of Forza would be AWESOME.

I don't have the PC ver of CMR 2005. I have it on the Xbox. Could it be an issue with the 360 controller? A friend of mine wasn't able to get seperate analog axes to function correctly for accel/brake with his 360 controller on the PC with some games. He ended up using an original Xbox Controller S, which worked perfectly. I also use an Xbox controller on my PC, but I don't have CMR 2005. I primarily use it for TOCA 2/3. Have you played much of TOCA 3? There is some nice rally racing in there.

Damn. Could be a 360 controller issue. Maybe new XBCD drivers would fix it.

It is flawless in all of my other games. I have the separate trigger axis profile in XBCD. I still need to play around with it more, but it works completley in Live for Speed, TOCA3, RBR, and GTR. And that's every racing game I got ATM. I haven't played much of TOCA3, nt rally at all, but I hate all the crap being locked. I'm going to find a cheat or trainer to try it out. RBR seems to be excellent anyway, so I may just forget CMR05. I still want to find CMR2 tho.. will check the old/bargain bins. I bet it would work in that even.. great game. Or I may just try out my wheel for CMR05.

Got some decent racing sims for my wheel and the 360 controller... now I just need to tweak settings and make separate profiles. Its kinda a pain, but should pay off in the end, and hopefully I'll have time to mess around with all my racers and gear this weekend. :)
