I have 19 avi files, at least 350MB each. I'd like to get these all onto a few DVD's (as few as possible). I'm willing to sacrifice quality to fit more onto each.

Basically, how can I do this? Is there a batch tool which will convert x number of files and combine them into a format that I can play in most DVD players?

I use ConvertXtoDVD for burning dvds in a format I can play on my DVD player. I think batch conversion can be done with it.

WinAVI will do it quickly and make each avi file a title. I do this with TV shows.

I use ConvertXToDVD, but no matter what the original file sizes are, it has to be no more than about three hours per DVD.

Regular DVD players support both the mpeg-2 & mpeg-1. So if you convert your video to mpeg-1 (which is used for VCD's), you can get over 7 hours. Note that the resolution for a typical avi/divx/xvid might something like 640X480, while mpeg-1 is only 352x240.

NeroVision does a great job put many clips into dvd along with titles. Look good on dvd player. I dont know if you want a paid version or freeware? Nero is not free unless it comes with dvd drive.
