MultiMonitor support in W2K w/ 4MB PCI ATi Rage II+ - It's not working! argh...

I have an asus a7n266-VM nForce mobo with built in geforce2 video (32mb)
I have that attached to my main 21" Dell P1110 trinitron monitor. Works fine.

I throw in a cheap 4 meg ATi Rage II+ PCI card in the top PCI slot, and windows detects it and installs proper driver files current as of 2000, but in the display properties it only shows 1 monitor and only the nvidia display settings to adjust on the central monitor.

the ATi PCI card is connected to another powered up 21" monitor, same model.

In the bios, I dont have the typical "boot from AGP or PCI" choice, either boot from onboard VGA (the geforce2 card) or boot from AGP.

Is that where my problem is? that the motherboard just wont let it load or work from a PCI video card?

I don't have a spare AGP laying around to test this out.

Just curious if anyone has any other suggestions

damn it! :|

I should have checked a list of multi monitor supported cards before i got this one. Ahh well only paid 5 bucks for it, so I'm not too pissed.

You may want to do a fair amount of searching. I did the exact same thing you did (even paid the same amount) and ended up with the same result. Apparently Windows 2k and XP only allow one graphics card to initialize its BIOS and most of the old cards require the BIOS to run.
