Multimonitor Feature On AIWR9600XT

Hi I'm having problems with the multimontior feature for the AIWradeon 9600XT. I am able to watch picture on the TV but not able to extend my desktop TO the TV. I go to display properties, settings and select monitor 2 then click extend my windows desktop onto this monitor and then I select Apply but it then goes gray agian until I select the 2nd monitor agian and do the thing agian (it essentially does nothing). To select to atleast have the TV be the monitor I go to the Advanced tab on monitor 1, then displays and click the ON button for TV, but then my computer monitor shuts off and TV is on. I know this feature should work because on my laptop, I have an R9600 Mobility and it supports S-Video out and VGA out. I have been able to do dual monitor on my laptop with the TV and the Computer monitor, also clone. Is there some thing I am missing here? Is there a reason why it won't work on my desktop? I think "if I remember correctly" that I did a multimonitor with an AIW Rage 128PRo card using the TV as the second monitor (doesn't support dual vga). I'm currently downloading the OMEGA drivers as of now for the desktop machine (The laptop already has the omega drivers). Could this be the reason for the difference? Does ATI not want dual monitor? Please help! Thanks.
